City Councilman Ernani Bernardi proposed a vote of the people on Bradley’s proposal to permit the Community Redevelopment Agency to obtain additional revenues from downtown redevelopment, to be use for housing, after-school care and improvement to downtown streets and other public facilities.

Write-in City Council candidate Jack McGrath, a candidate in the 5th District, says he is going to dance five hours at a dancethon beginning at 5 p.m. today and challenged Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky to do the same. The event is sponsored by radio station KPRW for AIDS Project L.A.
