Michela Figini of Switzerland, ending her Colorado jinx, rocketed to her sixth World Cup downhill victory of the season today by more than half a second over teammate Maria Walliser.

Figini, who had finished no higher than seventh in her eight previous races in Colorado, led a Swiss sweep of the top three places in the final women’s downhill of the season.

Figini, whose two downhill victories in Canada last week gave her the season’s downhill title for the third straight year, was clocked in 1 minute, 25.90 seconds.

Walliser was second in 1:26.49, and Chantal Bournissen took third in 1:26.99.

Walliser won the other two downhills this season as the Swiss women claimed all eight events for the second straight season.

West Germany’s Michaela Gerg wound up fourth in 1:27.20, and Veronika Wallinger of Austria was fifth in 1:27.39. Canada’s Karen Percy took sixth in 1:27.44.
