High School Soccer Playoffs

Mission Viejo 2, St. Francis 1--Jeff Jurgemeyer scored two second-half goals to lead the top-seeded Diablos in a Southern Section 3-A semifinal at Mission Viejo.

St. Francis (19-2) dominated play in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead on a Robert Guerrero goal nine minutes into the match. But behind the play of Jurgemeyer, Mission Viejo (22-1-3) earned a berth in the final Saturday against Santa Barbara.

Yucaipa 1, Chaminade 0--Jeff Robitaille scored nine minutes into the match for Yucaipa in a Southern Section Small Schools Division semifinal at Chaminade.

Chaminade (16-8-1), had nine unanswered shots on goal, including seven in the second half, but goalie Kevin Bliss turned back the Eagles to record the shutout.
