Five County Surfers Advance at Santa Cruz
Noah Budroe of Huntington Beach and Jim Hogan of Capistrano Beach were among five Orange County surfers to advance Thursday in the Cold Water surfing tournament at Santa Cruz.
Other Orange County surfers to advance were Dino Andino of San Clemente, Matt Archbold of Dana Point and Gary Clisby of Huntington Beach.
John Parmenter and Bud Llamas of Huntington Beach, who won their opening-round heats Wednesday, were eliminated Thursday.
The event, which continues through Sunday, is the first stop on the 1989 Assn. of Surfing Professionals world tour.
