SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL REGIONALS : Boys’ Regional Roundup

In other Southern Regional tournament games:

Division I

Crenshaw 79, Poway 62--Crenshaw used a pressing man to man defense to hold Poway with out a field goal for the first 9:38 of the game while it built a 20-7 lead.

Poway (23-4) cut the lead to 61-56 with just 5:34 remaining in the game, but Crenshaw (22-2) then outscored the Titans, 9-0, in the next 3 minutes to put the game away.

Adam Jones led Poway with 19 points and Jay Blankenbeckler added 10. Crenshaw was paced by Donald Smith’s 23 points.

Division III

San Bernardino 78, Madison 54--Host and No. 2-seed San Bernardino (31-0) took a 26-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, increased it to 44-21 at halftime and coasted the rest of the way. J.J. Cole led Madison (17-14) with 13 points and Robby Robinson, and Brad Eaddy added 12 each. Bryon Russell scored 24 points for San Bernardino, Carlos Dew added 19 and Doug Howard had 11.
