Orange County All-Star Wrestling : Woodbridge’s Sims to Lead South

Woodbridge High School’s Heath Sims, two-time state champion, heads a South team that will be trying to win for the second time in eight years at the 17th Orange County All-Star wrestling meet at 7:30 tonight at El Modena High.

Sims, who won state titles at 132 and 138 pounds, will wrestle at 145 pounds against Esperanza’s Danny Shaffer, a state qualifier this season. The South won last year, 27-12.

In other matches involving wrestlers who qualified for the state meet, Canyon’s Ravi Ramsamooj, who finished third in the state at 112 pounds, will go against Woodbridge’s Teraji Durangi. At 138 pounds, Buena Park’s Brent Holmes and Mission Viejo’s Nathan Kerley will go against each other.
