Share

The Rapid Transit District has scheduled two public meetings to discuss benefit assessment districts for the second phase of the Metro Rail project. The route of Phase 2 goes as far west as Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue in the Mid-Wilshire district, and as far north as North Hollywood. Input from the meetings will be given to a task force that will advise policy makers on benefit assessment districts for Phase 2. Assessments from the private sector are expected to generate about $75 million, or 5% of the total funds, toward the cost of building Phase 2.

The first meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 16 in the main meeting room at the Hollywood Senior Multipurpose Center, 6501 Fountain Ave. The second is at 1 p.m. March 21 at the Los Angeles City College Student Center, 855 N. Vermont Ave.
