Cityhood Vote Called
Orange County’s Local Agency Formation Commission has agreed to let Laguna Niguel residents vote on whether to become a city, and the measure may be on the ballot as early as June.
If a majority of voters approve, the proposed city of 38,000 would incorporate Sept. 1. The Orange County Board of Supervisors still must set the election date.
