El Camino Real’s Lofton Selected City Section 3-A Player of the Year

Brent Lofton of El Camino Real High has been selected City Section 3-A Division Player of the Year by the Amateur Athletic Foundation, which honored five Valley players.
Rick Garrick of Chatsworth and Dana Jones of North Hollywood were selected to the 3-A all-star team, and Dedan Thomas of Taft and Lucious Harris and Adonis Jordan of Cleveland were selected to the 4-A team. Each team consisted of 10 members and a player of the year.
Lofton, a 6-5 senior forward who has signed a letter of intent to attend Utah State, averaged 23.7 points and 12.2 rebounds for the Conquistadores (11-9). He finished his career as the school’s all-time leading scorer (1,009) and second-leading rebounder (556).
On the 4-A team, Harris (6-5) averaged 20.9 points and Jordan (6-0) averaged 18.4 to help lead Cleveland to the North Valley League title.
