The State Race Track Leasing Commission voted, 4-2, to retain the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club as operator of the Del Mar race track, pending negotiation of a new 20-year lease.
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, which has operated the seaside track since 1970, was selected over John J. Brunetti, president of Hialeah Park in Miami.
