LOCAL : 2 Hurt in Collapse of Rail Trestle

A section of a railroad trestle under construction collapsed today, slightly injuring two men whose pickup truck was crushed by a large girder, authorities said.
The 60-by-15-foot beam fell from its place about 9:10 a.m. above Firestone Boulevard in unincorporated South Los Angeles. The bridge support was being built for the new light rail line between downtown Los Angeles and Long Beach.
