Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

At stake is the Ward 6 City Council seat that became vacant in November when Daniel H. Young was elected mayor of Santa Ana.

The candidates are William C. Camp, Wilson B. Hart, Lisa Mills, Rick Norton, Lyle Overby. Orange County’s registrar of voters reports 74,016 residents of Santa Ana are eligible to vote. City officials are predicting a 10% turnout.

Because of the short ballot and the small turnout expected, there will be only 53 precincts compared to the 153 the city was divided into for the November general election. Voters who need help in locating their polling places can call the registrar of voters at (714) 567-7600.
