Man Cleaning Garage Shot by Teen-Agers
A Reseda man was in critical condition Sunday after he was shot by at least one of three men who tried to rob him in his garage, Los Angeles police said.
Se Lee was shot in the face and chest during the 11:05 a.m. assault, said a nursing supervisor at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where the victim was recovering. Lee’s age was not immediately available.
A witness told police that the teen-age suspects, who remained at large, fled in a dark green, older model car, possibly a Toyota, Lt. Jim Watters said.
Lee was cleaning out his garage on the 7500 block of Vanalden Avenue when the suspects approached him, asking for directions, police said. One of the suspects demanded money, and Lee was shot in a struggle that followed, Watters said. It was not known how many suspects fired at Lee, nor was there any indication that the suspects knew Lee, Watters said.
