Firefighters from the San Diego Fire Department and the California Division of Forestry contained a slow-moving brush fire in the Otay Mesa area Monday afternoon and expected to have it extinguished by this morning, authorities said.
The fire, which broke out just after 10 a.m., burned about 138 acres of brush, said CDF spokeswoman Audrey Hagen.
The fire was a mile east of Alta Road near the Otay Mountain Truck Trail.
Hand crews from the CDF were summoned to aid San Diego firefighters, said San Fire Department spokesman Larry Cooke.
No one was injured and no homes were damaged in the fire, the cause of which was under investigation, Hagen said.
