Helix 10, Mount Miguel 0--Junior Rob Ippolito (4-1) threw a no-hitter, striking out eight and allowing only two walks and a hit batsman. It was his first career no-hitter and shutout. Tory Winrow provided the offensive thrust with three hits and two RBIs.

Grossmont 2-A League

Santana 6, El Cajon Valley 0--Darrin Forester hit a home run in the fifth inning with two runners on base for Santana (8-5-1, 1-1).

Nonleague

El Capitan 7, Valhalla 1--Robert Guerrero led El Capitan with his sixth homer of the year, a first-inning, three-run shot. Guerrero went three-for-three with four RBIs.

City Eastern League

Henry 12, Morse 2--Scott Arlin, son of Steve Arlin, a pitcher for the Padres and Cleveland Indians in the 1970s, picked up his first victory for Henry and helped himself offensively, going four-for-four with two RBIs.

Madison 9, Serra 0--Senior pitcher Bobby Villaluz (3-0) struck out a career-high 14 batters and walked only one.

Mira Mesa 4, Point Loma 3--Pointer Marcus Brown (two-for-three) was the only player to get multiple hits. He also drove in two runs.

City Central League

Hoover 7, San Diego 6--D.C. Jacobs opened the eighth inning with a triple, then came home to break a 6-6 tie when Mike Giganti singled to right. Hoover’s Felipe Preciado hit a two-run homer in the first.

Crawford 10, Christian 4--Crawford’s Jeff Thrift went two-for-three with four RBIs and Josh Neil went two-for-three with an RBI and two runs. Crawford moved to 5-0 in the City Central and is 13-3 overall. Christian is 2-2, 4-7.

City Western League

University City 7, La Jolla 6--Tom Braley and Scott Clark hit solo home runs for University City, Clark’s breaking a 6-6 tie in the seventh.

Metro Conference

Montgomery 5, Coronado 1--Junior Manrique had two RBIs for host Montgomery (6-8, 1-3). Chris Charfarous hit a double and was two-for-four for the Aztecs. Rafael Montiel (1-0) was the winner.
