Prep Roundup : Perfect Day for Ondracek and Tustin

Jayme Ondracek pitched a perfect game, as Tustin High School defeated Newport Harbor, 19-0, Wednesday in a Sea View League softball game that was called after five innings at Tustin.

Ondracek (5-1) struck out five batters. She was also five for five with two runs batted in and three runs scored.

In another Sea View League game:

University 4, Corona del Mar 0--Freshman Michele Ponce (3-2) pitched a no-hitter, striking out eight, for University (9-5, 4-2) at Corona del Mar.

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 3, Western 0--Winning pitcher Kelly Cook (10-3) struck out six and allowed just three hits to lead Brea (10-4, 2-0) at home.

In the South Coast League:

Irvine 1, El Toro 0--Jennifer Brundage (9-5) pitched her second consecutive no-hitter to lead Irvine (10-5, 1-0) at El Toro.

Mission Viejo 5, Dana Hills 1--Erin Fitzgerald (6-2) pitched a two-hitter, striking out nine, for Mission Viejo (10-5, 1-0) at Dana Hills.

San Clemente 1, Capistrano Valley 0--San Clemente (6-7, 1-0) got just one hit but turned that into a run to win at home.

In Sea View League golf:

Tustin 249, La Quinta 255--Dennis Villoromam shot a 43 to lead Irvine at Rancho San Joaquin golf course.

In Century League girls’ swimming:

Villa Park 82, Canyon 74--Kara Tiantidosi won 200-yard freestyle (2 minutes 6.4 seconds) and 500 freestyle (5:39.9) for the Spartans at Villa Park.

In the Sea View League:

Tustin 85, Newport Harbor 71--Tustin’s Kelly Quinn won the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.5) and 500 freestyle (5:31.1). The Tillers’ Shannon Quinn won the 100 butterfly (1:02.2) and 100 backstroke (1:04.9).

In Empire League boys’ tennis:

Cypress 13, Esperanza 8--Mark Immer swept his singles sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, for the Centurions (6-2, 2-1) at Cypress.

In the Orange League:

Western 12, Savanna 6--Singles players Jack Wei and Joon Choi each swept their singles matches to lead Western at Savanna.

Valencia 17, Brea-Olinda 1--Danny Yu swept his sets losing just one game to lead Valencia (8-3, 8-0) at home.

In the Sea View League:

Corona del Mar 14, University 4--Justin Zillman swept, 6-4, 7-5, 6-1, for the Sea Kings (11-3, 6-0) at Corona del Mar.

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 11, Irvine 7--Freshman Paul Chang swept his singles sets for Capistrano Valley (4-5, 1-3) at Irvine.

Mission Viejo 12, San Clemente 6--Dave Allen and Stefen Blummers swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, for the Diablos (13-1, 3-1) at Mission Viejo.

In nonleague play:

Laguna Beach 11, Miraleste 7--Lee Kirner swept his sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-2, as Laguna Beach (11-2) won at home.

In Empire League boys’ volleyball:

Esperanza 3, Santa Ana 0--Scott Delaney had nine kills as the Aztecs (8-2, 4-1) swept, 15-6, 15-7, 15-6.

In the Garden Grove League:

La Quinta 3, Pacifica 1--Paul Price had seven kills and nine blocks as La Quinta (6-3, 6-0) won 15-13, 4-15, 15-0, 15-7 at home.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 3, Costa Mesa 2--Trent deVruegd had seven kills as the Hawks (4-6, 3-4) won, 16-14, 15-17, 10-15, 15-11, 15-1, at Laguna Hills.

In the Sunset League:

Edison 3, Marina 0--Outside hitter Darren Lance had 16 kills to lead Edison (9-0, 3-0) to a 15-4, 15-6, 15-8 victory at home.

In nonleague volleyball:

Corona del Mar 3, Woodbridge 0--Matt Cwiertnia had 10 kills as Corona del Mar (5-1) swept, 15-5, 15-6, 15-9, at Woodbridge.
