Splendor Catch Is Wire-to-Wire Winner
Texas-bred Splendor Catch, ridden by Gary Stevens, took the lead from the start and never relinquished it to win the $41,000 feature race by five lengths Thursday at Santa Anita.
Reve Dore and Eddie Delahoussaye finished second, two lengths in front of Breakfast Table, with Corey Black riding.
Splendor Catch covered 1 1/8 miles on the turf in 1:47 4/5 and earned $22,550 for the victory, his sixth in 29 starts. The 5-year-old gelding paid $7.60, $3 and $2.80.
