Aaron Wilhite, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward from San Diego Lincoln High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Cal State Fullerton and will deliver it to the school today, Lincoln Coach Ron Loneski said Monday.

The letter is not valid under National Collegiate Athletic Assn. rules until it is delivered to the school and filed in the conference office.

Wilhite averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds a game this season for Lincoln, which finished 27-2, losing to Morningside in the first round of the state playoffs. He also set a San Diego Section record for rebounds in a game with 39 against Hoover.

Loneski said Wilhite had visited San Diego State and Oregon State and decided on Fullerton in part because of the school’s engineering department.
