In other City Eastern League games:

Patrick Henry 8, Point Loma 6--Point Loma’s Brett Callan and Patrick Henry’s Tony Maturani both went three for three, but the Patriots (12-8, 5-2) scored in all the the first and seventh innings to hold on. Point Loma dropped to 5-14, 1-6.

Morse 7, Serra 1--Morse pitcher Chris Nelson struck out five and walked none. Sergio Guzman was two for four with an RBI and a run scored, and Mike Romero was two for four with two RBIs and a run scored.

City Western League

University City 11, Kearny 5--Spencer Peller was three for three with two RBIs, and Troy Lane was two for four with three RBIs for host University City (5-11, 3-3). Kearny (3-14, 1-5) finished with six errors. Ray Hooper (1-2) was the winner.

Mission Bay 11, La Jolla 4--The first-place Buccaneers (5-1) capitalized on five La Jolla errors and a seventh-inning, two-run home run by Scott McKesson.

City Central League

Hoover 17, Christian 5--Four home runs helped visiting Hoover (9-7-1, 4-2). D.C. Jacobs hit two--with two on in the first and the bases empty in the fifth--and Marcus Collins and Felipe Preciado each hit bases-empty homers in the seventh. Preciado (2-4) came on in relief in the fourth for the victory. Christian is 5-9 and 3-4.

Crawford 18, St. Augustine 6--Jeff Thrift hit a three-run homer in the second, Joe McWilliams a two-run homer in the fourth and Manny Gagliano a two-run homer in the fifth for host Crawford (15-3, 7-0). St. Augustine is 7-10 and 2-5.

San Diego 7, Lincoln 5--Kian Sly was three for four with two home runs and four RBIs and scored twice for San Diego.

Grossmont 3-A League

Monte Vista 15, Mt. Miguel 6--Visiting Monte Vista scored six runs in the first and four in the third. Ernie Reyes came on in the fourth for Monte Vista (11-4-2, 1-2) and shut out Mt. Miguel (2-16, 0-4).

Grossmont 2-A League

Grossmont 10, El Cajon Valley 2--John Eichhorst sparked the win with a three-run home run in the third.

Nonleague

Granite Hills 11, Valhalla 3--Granite Hills’ leadoff man John Fenn hit safely only once but managed to score four runs after he was walked twice and was hit by a pitch.
