Freeway Work to Jam Lanes in Woodland Hills

Weekend lane and ramp closures are scheduled this weekend on the Ventura Freeway in Woodland Hills, with only one lane open in each direction during night and morning hours.

State Department of Transportation officials are advising motorists to avoid the freeway or use the alternative routes designated to bypass the construction zone.

Only one lane will remain open in each direction from about Canoga to Shoup avenues from 10 tonight to noon Saturday, and 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.

Lane closures tonight and Saturday night will be as follows:

Eastbound lane closures begin at Fallbrook Avenue and end just past the Ventura Boulevard bridge.

Westbound lane closures begin at Canoga Avenue and about half a mile past the Shoup Avenue bridge.

Ramp closures will include:

The eastbound Ventura Boulevard on- and off-ramps will be closed from 10 tonight until noon Saturday and 10 p.m. Saturday until noon Sunday.

The westbound off-ramps to north- and southbound Topanga Canyon Boulevard will be closed from 10 tonight to noon Saturday and 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday.

To avoid the construction zone, westbound travelers should exit at Winnetka or De Soto avenues, continue west on Ventura Boulevard and re-enter the freeway by using the Long Valley Road/Valley Circle Boulevard on-ramp.

Eastbound travelers should exit at Parkway Calabasas, turn left over the bridge, follow the new circulation route to Ventura Boulevard and re-enter the freeway at the Canoga Avenue on-ramp.

In addition, the following on- and off-ramps are closed for about the next two months:

Westbound Topanga Canyon Canyon Boulevard and Woodlake Avenue on-ramps.

Westbound Valley Circle Boulevard and Parkway Calabasas off-ramps.

Eastbound Valley Circle Boulevard/Mulholland Drive off-ramp.

Eastbound Fallbrook Avenue off-ramp.
