While we’re on the base paths, you may have noticed a clever bit of banter in the promotional trailer for “Major League” that’s not in the released film.

The scene has the Tom Berenger character in a bar, trying to console pitcher Charlie Sheen, who’s just given up a monster home run.

“It wouldn’t have been a home run in another park,” Berenger says.

Sheen, who knows he’s being patronized, says, “Name one.”

“Yellowstone,” quips Berenger.

Why is the bit missing from the movie?

“The trailer was made from a rough cut,” explained Ward. “The line was a payoff to the scene preceding it. But the scene slowed down the film. So we decided that it wouldn’t be worth it to have a scene just for one line.”

Ward says he’s heard from a lot of people about the missing line: “I didn’t realize how much people liked it.”
