Proceeds From All-Star Workout Will Benefit Youth Teams, Fields
The Orange County Sports Hall of Fame has been picked as the major charity recipient of the All-Star baseball game workout July 10 at Anaheim Stadium, the hall of fame announced Wednesday.
Proceeds from the workout, the day before the All-Star Game at Anaheim Stadium, will go to a variety of youth groups in Southern California. A large amount of the money will go for the refurbishing Little League fields.
Admission to the workout, which features a home-run hitting contest, is $5. There also will be a relay-throw competition and catcher’s throw for accuracy during the workout. Tickets for the workout are on sale at Anaheim Stadium.
Any youth group interested in equipment donations or field renovation can write to the Orange County Sports Hall of Fame at 195 South C Street, Suite 250, Tustin, Calif. 92680.
