Danny Sullivan won the second round of the International Race of Champions at Nazareth, Pa., but he didn’t know the checkered flag was for him.
“I didn’t know after race where I finished,” Sullivan said. “I drove right past Victory Circle. I figured I was in the top three or four, but I didn’t know I had won until my mechanic, Richie (Lubenstein), got in the car with me. I said, ‘How’d we do?’ and he said, ‘You won!’ ”
Scott Pruett was second, 13.45 seconds behind, and Rusty Wallace, who won the series opener in February at Daytona International Speedway, was third.
