THE HIGH SCHOOLS : Softball : El Camino Real Batters Chatsworth With 23 Hits

Senior right-hander Chrissy Peck threw a two-hitter and struck out 10 to lead El Camino Real High to a 15-0 win over Chatsworth in a Northwest Valley Conference game Tuesday at Chatsworth.

Peck (17-2) walked one and was three for five with five runs scored for El Camino Real (18-2, 9-0).

Lisa Huffaker had three hits, including a solo home run in the third inning, and scored three runs with two RBIs on three-for-four hitting. Alisa Knopf was two for five with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Cathy Balint was two for five for El Camino Real, which pounded out 23 hits.

Mara Phillips and Laura Roopenian had two hits for Chatsworth 10-3, 3-2.

Hart 9, Schurr 3--Krissy Carpenter pitched a three-hitter, struck out six and walked one for Hart in the Foothill League game at Schurr.

Carpenter (4-0), filling in for the injured Kym Weil, won her second consecutive game.

Weil (17-1), who was struck in the right ankle by an errant throw between games of the Thousand Oaks tournament Saturday, is questionable for Thursday’s game against San Gabriel.

Nicole Fox and Stephanie Keeler each had two hits for Hart (22-1, 7-0). Fox had a double and her first home run of the season and Keeler hit her third home run.

Simi Valley 2, Camarillo 1--Chrissy Oliver (6-5) had 14 strikeouts and gave up an unearned run on three hits for Simi Valley (18-7, 7-3) in the nine-inning Marmonte League game.

Cathy Beasley’s double in the ninth inning gave Simi Valley the win. Denise Swank went two for four and drove in the Pioneers’ first run with a double.

Jennifer Brice scored Camarillo’s lone run in the fourth inning on an error by the Pioneer’s second baseman. Brice walked, stole second and moved to third when the throw rolled into center field.

Notre Dame 2, Alemany 1--Karen Erickson’s hard line drive over third base and a bases-loaded walk enabled Notre Dame (11-7, 7-0) to score two runs in the first inning of the San Fernando Valley League game at Alemany.

Becca Berline threw a two-hitter and struck out six while allowing one unearned run with no walks.

Simona Errico doubled and walked twice for Notre Dame.

Agoura 11, Calabasas 3--Melissa Thatcher scattered eight hits to win her 13th game in a row in the Frontier League game at Agoura.

Thatcher (16-2), a sophomore, walked two and struck out four.

Leslie North and Robyn Bailey each had three hits for Agoura (16-2, 7-0).
