William Broderick, 30, was driving north on the freeway, about 9 p.m. Wednesday when he drifted off to the right and onto the shoulder of the freeway near the Sand Canyon Road exit, allegedly striking a Ford Pinto and the car’s driver, California Highway Patrol Officer Thomas Tilman said.
