San Marcos 17, El Camino 0--Toby Lehman went three for four with a grand slam and five RBIs for San Marcos (6-15, 5-5).

Palomar League

Mt. Carmel 2, Torrey Pines 1--No. 1 Mt. Carmel (20-2, 9-0) escaped with its second consecutive 2-1 victory by scoring the winning run on a passed ball in the sixth. Byron Klemaske (10-1) struck out eight, allowing just three hits. Torrey Pines is 8-10-1, 3-5.

Poway 4, Vista 0--Kevin Macruder hit a three-run homer to help Poway (9-11, 3-6) defeat No. 7 Vista (15-5, 6-3).

Fallbrook 6, San Dieguito 5--Dirk Fisher, the county leader in RBIs, recorded his 35th when he was hit by a pitch with bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, giving Fallbrook (15-8, 4-5) the victory. San Dieguito is 10-10, 2-6.

Metro Conference

Bonita Vista 12, Montgomery 1--Craig Catlin went three for four with two RBIs, John Solomon two for four with two RBIs and Jimmy Ilusorio two for four with an RBI to lead Bonita Vista (12-12, 6-4).

Sweetwater 8, Chula Vista 6--Demoier Crowder went three for four with two doubles and two RBIs for Sweetwater (10-11, 5-5). Chula Vista dropped to 8-13, 6-4.

Hilltop 16, Southwest 2--Larry Bebe hit two solo homers, one of them Hilltop’s 12-run third inning.

Coronado 6, Castle Park 2--Ted Forney had a home run for Coronado (9-10, 4-6). No. 4 Castle Park dropped to 21-5, 7-3.

Mar Vista 13, Marian 2--Jose Galaz hit a home run for Mar Vista (10-10-1, 8-2). Marian is 7-13, 4-6.

Softball

Madison 4, Mira Mesa 0--Jennifer Booker threw her second consecutive no-hitter, striking out 11, including seven of the first nine. Booker (8-2) walked one batter, in the fifth, to lose the perfect game. Last Thursday, Booker threw a no-hitter against Serra, striking out 14 and walking one. As a sophomore in 1987, Booker also had consecutive no-hitters.

Castle Park 11, Coronado 0--Dawn Wood, with 710 career strikeouts, broke the San Diego Section record set by Santana’s Cheryl Forehand (697) from 1978-81. Wood (13-6) has 186 this season.
