Teobaldi of Pierce Falls in Tennis Final

Cathy Teobaldi of Pierce College advanced to the final of the state junior college tennis championships Saturday before losing to Lynn Henderson of Modesto, 6-0, 6-1, at West Valley College in Saratoga, Calif.
In men’s singles, Darin Pleasant of Moorpark lost in the semifinals to Billy Miller of Western State Conference foe Santa Barbara, 6-3, 6-4.
In men’s doubles, Sang Kim and Mason Harris of Pierce defeated Marco Redaelli and Jimmy Takada of West Valley, the state’s top-ranked team, in the opening round but fell in the quarterfinals.
Overall, Moorpark finished fourth and Pierce finished in a tie for sixth in men’s competition. Pierce finished fourth in women’s play.
