IN BRIEF : Ex-Fullerton Coach Gets Tempe Job

TEMPE, Ariz. —
George McQuarn, former head coach at Cal State Fullerton, today was named assistant basketball coach at Arizona State, completing the staff under new head Coach Bill Frieder, Athletic Director Charles Harris said.
McQuarn, 48, compiled a 122-117 record from 1980 to ’88 at Fullerton, where the Titans reached the NIT twice. In 1983, Fullerton lost to Arizona State 87-83 in the first round of the post-season tournament.
