A group of senior citizens on their way to a luncheon Tuesday morning were injured, some seriously, after a 22-year-old woman drove into their van on California 67 in Ramona, the CHP reported.

Two of the 10 victims in the head-on collision had been released from San Diego area hospitals with minor injuries Tuesday night, while the rest remained hospitalized in stable to good condition. There were nine people in the van.

All those involved--one of the victims was 93 years old--in the 10:45 a.m. crash are from Ramona, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

The driver of the van, 59-year-old Betty Gibson, remained in stable condition at Palomar Memorial Hospital Tuesday night with a chest injury, a hospital spokeswoman said. Julie Park, 22, whose car authorities say crossed the center divider on the two-lane route and caused the accident, also remained at Palomar Memorial Hospital in stable condition with minor injuries.

Park, who was driving alone, was not arrested. However, the investigation was continuing Tuesday as to whether she was driving drunk, a CHP spokeswoman said.
