Boxing promoter Don King said that heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will fight Carl (the Truth) Williams July 21 in Atlantic City, N.J., but the undefeated Tyson said he would also like to accept the challenge of Tony Mandarich, a 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive lineman and the first-round draft choice of the the Green Bay Packers.
“I will whip Tony Mandarich’s tail also,” Tyson said. “Oh yes, I would love to make him suffer. . . . I would love to make him cry.”
But King said he opposes a Tyson-Mandarich fight because Mandarich is not a boxer. King said he does not want to take a chance on Tyson getting hurt.
