Girls’ Softball Roundup

Agoura 4, Big Bear 1--The Chargers, who won only one game in the 1986 and 1987 seasons combined, gained their first Southern Section 1-A Division title at Mayfair Park.

Agoura (23-2) was led by Melissa Thatcher, a sophomore right-hander. She threw a four-hitter, striking out nine and walking two.

“I got a lot of them on curves,” Thatcher said. “I didn’t throw too many fastballs. I tried to make them guess what’s coming.”
