LOCAL : Crash Near Griffith Park Kills Driver

The driver of a car that went off a freeway transition road near Griffith Park was killed today when the car crashed down an embankment, pinning the victim inside, authorities said.
The 9 a.m. accident occurred in Glendale at the northern edge of the park on the transition road from the westbound Ventura Freeway to the northbound Golden State Freeway, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said.
