NATION : Yeltsin Book to Be Published in U.S.

Maverick Soviet politician Boris Yeltsin’s memoirs on the inside workings of the Politburo will be published in the United States early next year, it was announced today.

A spokesman for Summit Books said it has acquired the U.S. and Canadian rights to publish Yeltsin’s as-yet unfinished memoirs for an undisclosed price in auction bidding with other publishers.

Part of the proceeds to Yeltsin will be donated to a new fund to fight acquired immune deficiency syndrome in the Soviet Union at the author’s request.
