Golf Roundup : Davies Makes 30-Foot Putt on No. 18 to Win Keystone
Laura Davies made a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole Sunday to win the LPGA’s Lady Keystone Open by one stroke over Pat Bradley at the West Course of the Hershey County Club in Hershey, Pa.
The putt gave Davies a five-under-par 67 for a total of nine-under-par 207 on the 6,348-yard, par-72 course.
Bradley’s 68 was the second-best score of the final round but left her with a 208 total.
Butch Baird sank a 3 1/2-foot birdie putt on the par-five, 506-yard 10th hole to win a four-way playoff in the $350,000 Northville Long Island Classic at Jericho, N.Y.
Baird, in scoring his first victory on the Senior PGA Tour in four years and only the second of his career, earned $52,500. He beat seniors rookie Frank Beard, defending champion Don Bies and veteran Orville Moody on the first extra hole.
Mark James of England shot a four-under par 68 for a one-stroke victory in the $400,000 English Open at Sutton Coldfield.
