LOCAL : Police Seek Drive-By Gunman Who Shot 3 Boys, Man in Santa Ana
Police were searching for a drive-by gunman who wounded four people, three of them juveniles, in an attack Wednesday night in Santa Ana.
The victims, Carlos F. Gutierrez, 21, and three boys, ages 13, 14 and 15, were taken to area hospitals. Some of the victims were wounded several times, but all are expected to survive.
The shootings occurred just minutes apart, when a passenger in a blue car wounded two boys who were riding on a single bicycle in the 2300 block of West Monta Vista Avenue, according to Santa Ana police spokeswoman Maureen Thomas. The car turned onto the 600 block of South Townsend Street, where a third boy was struck by bullets while standing in a driveway and Gutierrez was shot in the face as he stood in his yard.
Investigators have not yet determined whether the shootings, which occurred about 8:45 p.m., were random, Thomas said. At least two people are believed to have been in the car.
