The crew of an Amtrak passenger train reported that the train came under gunfire as it traveled through the Chatsworth section of the San Fernando Valley, but no injuries were reported, police said today.

Seven people, including three juveniles, were arrested for investigation of trespassing after police found them near the train tracks about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Sgt. Ted DeMaegt said.

No weapons were found. The train’s crew reported that an unspecified number of shots were fired about 9:15 p.m., DeMaegt said.

“We’re . . . investigating the gunshot aspect of the report, but right now it’s a trespassing case,” he said.

All those arrested were young men and boys, DeMaegt said. The train, traveling north through the northwest part of the San Fernando Valley, continued to Santa Barbara, he said.
