French heptathlete Chantal Beaugeant has been banned from competition for two years after testing positive for an anabolic steroid, the French Athletics Federation announced in Paris.
Beaugeant, 28, failed the test after a national inter-club championship meeting last month. An analysis showed traces of the steroid nandrolone in her system.
The ban will end May 28, 1991. The case has been referred to the International Athletics Federation.
