Foul play has been ruled out in the disappearance this month of a San Marcos bride-to-be.

According to Lt. John Tenwolde of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department’s homicide unit, Phuong Bich Giap, 24, who was last seen June 16, flew to Philadelphia and apparently has been reunited with a friend.

Tenwolde said a San Diego area taxi driver remembered driving Giap to Lindbergh Field on the day she disappeared. He said airline records show that Giap flew alone that day to Philadelphia.

He also said that a friend who lives in Philadelphia regularly communicates by letter and phone with Giap, particularly on the weekends. But since she has been missing, the friend has not telephoned on the weekends, he said. In addition, Philadelphia police have been unable to locate the friend or Giap.

“These factors have led investigators to discount the possibility that foul play was involved in her disappearance,” he said.
