A Thousand Oaks man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, drug possession and drunk driving after he allegedly caused a fatal accident on the Ventura Freeway in Westlake Village, the California Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.

The accident just west of the Lindero Canyon Road exit killed Patricia A. Dillon, 49, of Santa Barbara about 9 a.m. Monday, Officer Dave Grajeda said.

Terry Mundt, 39, was arrested when CHP officers investigating the accident found 12 grams of cocaine in his car, Grajeda said.

According to CHP reports, Mundt was driving west at 65 m.p.h. when his car veered from one lane to another and struck the rear of Dillon’s car, sending it out of control. Dillon’s car spun across two lanes of the freeway and struck the back of a tractor-trailer truck. The door of her car opened and Dillon, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out and fatally injured, the CHP said.

Mundt was being held in lieu of $5,000 bail at the Malibu sheriff’s station jail.
