Nate Odomes, a defensive back for the Buffalo Bills, was charged in Eau Claire, Wis., with possession of marijuana, stemming from an incident Sunday.

Jim Heffernan, the National Football League’s director of public relations, said no action would be taken against Odomes unless he was convicted of the offense.

Heffernan said the league has not set penalties for such an offense.
