Trauma Centers

Share

Recently my husband Frank complained of a back pain. We thought it to be a muscle strain. When the pain increased I called 911. Paramedics responded within five minutes. They rushed my husband to Holy Cross Hospital where the trauma team took over. He was in surgery for a ruptured aneurysm within five minutes.

The 911 team, the trauma team and the surgeons and nurses saved his life. They all agreed that the speed with which Frank was admitted to the hospital and the fact that he wasn’t a smoker made the difference between life and death.

We are grateful to all concerned and can only imagine the tragic results if Holy Cross had been one of those hospitals whose trauma center had closed.
