15-Year-Old Killed in Traffic Dispute

A Mission Bay High School freshman died early Tuesday after being shot in a Pacific Beach traffic dispute, police said.
Kurt Von Yokes, 15, of the 5400 block of Bahia Lane, was shot once at 11:50 p.m. Monday in front of a home in the 2600 block of Christopher Street, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Yokes was riding to a friend’s house in a car that was being followed by the assailant, who apparently became angry when passengers in the two vehicles exchanged words earlier, Robinson said.
Yokes died in surgery at 12:35 a.m. at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, a spokesman for the coroner’s office said.
Police are looking for a slight man with black hair who was riding in a late-model red Isuzu Trooper equipped with a roof rack, Robinson said.
