The coroner’s office has determined that a 40-year-old Orange County Jail inmate, found dead in his cell Wednesday, died of an aneurysm, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard Olson said today.

The body of Jimmy Munos Martinez of Santa Ana was found about 4:30 a.m. in the medical housing area of the Inmate Reception Center in Santa Ana, Sgt. Richard Paddock said Wednesday. He had been receiving treatment for hepatitis.

Martinez was arrested June 9 by Santa Ana police on suspicion of possession of stolen property. The inmate had a long history of drug use, authorities said.
