Ailing Antonovich Taken to Hospital
Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich has been hospitalized at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, suffering from pneumonia, his chief deputy said Thursday.
Tom Silver said he spoke to the supervisor by telephone late Thursday, and, “He was very chipper. He is putting in a work day over there.”
Antonovich was driven to the hospital early Wednesday, after leaving work Monday with a fever. Silver said a nurse took Antonovich’s temperature in the office Monday morning, “and it was over 104” degrees.
Silver said Antonovich’s temperature was “close to normal” Thursday. He said he expects the supervisor to remain in the hospital through the weekend.
Antonovich’s sprawling 5th District takes in the Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena and a large part of the San Fernando Valley.
