Countywide : Garden Grove Teacher Wins Award From UCI

Share

Courtney Lantz, a teacher at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove, has received the UC Irvine Science Education Advisory Board’s award for excellence in teaching high school science.

The selection was determined by a poll of current UCI students who were asked to name their most influential high school physics teacher. The final selection was made on the basis of student comments, performance of the teacher’s former students at UCI and recommendations from professional colleagues, according to Alan Trudell, public information officer for the Garden Grove Unified School District.

Lantz joined the Pacifica High faculty in 1968 after teaching in Oregon and Puerto Rico and serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines.
