Florence, Ala., police said allegations of game-fixing at the high school level have not been backed by specific evidence.
But Florence Police chief Rick Thompson told The Birmingham News that information gathered in the investigation includes an intercepted conversation between an unnamed coach and a bookmaker, during which methods of fixing the outcome of football games were discussed.
