The San Francisco Board of Supervisors, in an attempt to keep the Giants in San Francisco, endorsed a plan for a downtown stadium by an 8-2 vote.
Club owner Bob Lurie is awaiting proposals from San Francisco and Santa Clara before deciding which city he will negotiate with for a new home. He has said his team will not renew its lease for Candlestick Park; the lease ends in 1994.
