Huntington Beach Feels 2.7 Quake
A slight earthquake was felt in Huntington Beach Sunday morning but caused no damage or injuries, authorities said.
The magnitude 2.7 quake came at 10:27 a.m. about “three miles north of Huntington Beach,” said Robert Finn, a spokesman for the Caltech Seismology Laboratory in Pasadena. Finn gave map coordinates that put its center in the northern part of the city, but he stressed that the epicenter was actually probably several miles below ground.
The shaker was not an aftershock of any previous seismic activity in the area, he said. Police and fire officials, many of whom said they did not feel the quake themselves, said they received no reports of damage or injuries.
