Forward Andrew Gaze scored 27 points in leading the Australian national basketball team to a 120-115 victory over a team of former National Basketball Assn. All-Stars at Melbourne.

George Gervin led the NBA stars team with 25 points. Bob McAdoo had 16 and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 14. The teams will play again Wednesday night in Sydney and Friday in Brisbane.
