The world championship is scheduled Aug. 9-22 in Three Rivers, Quebec. The United States is the defending champion, having won its first title in the six-year-old competition last year in Australia.
All of the players selected by the U.S. Baseball Federation competed in the U.S. Olympic Festival.
Other California players named were infielder Jason Evans of Chatsworth, pitcher-infielder Danny Melendez of Los Angeles, pitcher Robert Wallace of Oxnard and catcher Greg Zaun of Glendale.
